About Me

Hello, I’m Rachel Glick, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State.

I believe we are all resilient and capable of living a meaningful life. I help clients navigate difficulties, diagnosis, anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, parenting issues, and other challenges with support, insight, and clarity. I believe you know what is best for you in your life and having a therapist to talk to can clarify how you navigate this journey.

My Philosophy

In therapy I use an acceptance and change model in which we identify areas you want to change and areas of your life that you are willing to accept. I believe we are influenced and affected by nature and nurture, our biology and our environment, and we have changeable parts and sedentary parts of us. I believe in the body’s wisdom, spiritual practices, goal oriented approaches, and the value of talking with a supportive therapist to help work through the challenges in your life and help you find your way. Therapy is strengths-based and resiliency-focused with both talk and somatic therapy treatments. I believe in being reflective and curious, and supporting your insights while steering you towards your goals.

Some clients may seek short-term counseling while others seek long-term. There is no one way and no right way to do therapy, there is just the way that is right for you at this time. Generally, I work with individuals, but sometimes spouses, parents, and adult kids can be involved in sessions too.

My Training

I received my Master’s Degree in Systems Counseling from LIOS Graduate College of Saybrook University where I focused my studies on individual and family therapy. Additionally, I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) created by Marsha Linehan an evidence based therapy for people with suicidal thoughts and intent, and self-harm. I am trained in Somatic EMDR, another evidence-based therapy for trauma and other chronic issues. I have extensive training in therapeutic yoga which informs a somatic understanding of how we carry our emotions and experiences in our body. I have extensive training and experience with meditation and mindfulness which can have a great impact on our short and long-term ability to deal with emotional and physical challenges. My work is also rooted in Family Systems Theory.

My Approach

I offer a 15-minute consultation to see if we will be a good fit. Appointments are generally 50 minutes, and I recommend meeting at least 3-6 times before deciding if therapy is right for you at this time.

I am a WA State Licensed Mental Health Counselor. My practice is currently only Telehealth with clients in Washington State. All forms of communication take place on-line from intakes to payment.
